Our Team has significant international experience in the planning and delivery of decommissioning projects at nuclear power stations, weapons plants and other nuclear and non-nuclear facilities. Strategic Planning
Our extensive and diverse decommissioning lifecycle experience allows us to provide invaluable asset and material information; waste type and quantity projections and appropriate decommissioning techniques, methodologies and strategies during the planning phase of both large and small decommissioning projects. Members of our team have been instrumental in developing national characterisation and waste management strategies in both the UK and abroad. Our understanding of national and international regulations and guidance allows for a streamlined and realistic approach to decommissioning.
POCO, Decommissioning and Demolition
Following on from the decommissioning planning phase, we have successfully delivered physical decommissioning Post Operational Clean Out (POCO) and decommissioning works. Our risk based approach ensures that all safety, radiation protection and nuclear site licence and environmental permit conditions are considered during all aspects of work.
Our ability to act as the Principal Contractor under the Construction (Design and Management) (CDM2015) regulations demonstrates not only provides our clients with the peace of mind that the work will be done safely and compliantly, but also ensures a sensible approach to the work so the risks involved are managed from start to finish. In addition to the physical removal of plant and equipment, we also perform the radiological monitoring, chemical and radiological characterisation, waste management (including generation, packaging, labelling, staging and consignment) throughout the life of the project.
As a key strength, we are also able to offer our Contract Service Management Programme that allows the utilisation of several existing contracts and service agreements that we have in place internationally with a wide variety of decommissioning companies. Through these contracts, we can supplement our services by providing comprehensive, diverse and immediate speciality decommissioning services.
